POD - Printing on Demand is a printing mode where the actual printing is done only after a request is received from same. This method is used when small amounts of prints are necessary and also it is more economical to use the mode for such rather than the conventional letterpress/ off set modes.

The costs for printing a single copy is found to be higher than offset printing but the average for a selected numbers of copies becomes much less than off set printing since the set up charges of  for offset printing increases vastly.


This has gained popularity since the method is always available and it stays relevant. But it also curbs on the uncertainty as most books that will utilize this method are not the titles that would be done on whole sale amounts.
