Publications signal the communication strategy of an institution. It also emphasizes on the objectives of the institution. For most parts what an organization wants people to know about it is what we see 'communicated' or what we want to impress upon the outsiders is what our 'objectives; should be.

Publication/s can be made directed at several layers.
The Science Community
The Local Authorities
The Research Organizations
The Funders an Partners
The Local Science community
The Local non Science community
The well wishers or the regular 'students'

The Book styled occasional or annual publications are mostly suitable for the general science communities who may also be in research cross roads with similar topics. These are the resources sharers and who may appreciate the attempt.

There may be organizations who may actually build on the work done and who may appreciate more the content. In that regard more specific and time bound publications need to take place. Here it could be more in the line of shorter versions of information but resorting to different modes such as newsletters, news papers, weekly/monthly reports etc

For the categories mentioned third and fourth it might well be the credibility that is necessary as a potential partner. Therefore the publication wise it may be necessary not to include heavy research material but rather shorter abstract work informing the work in progress. These could come in the form of flyers and newsletters but with mention of the links and the access to the research undertaken.

When trying to be 'Glocal' it is necessary to appeal to the audience that may be interested in the country as well. Therefore the need maybe to interlink with them through workshops, seminars and conferences which may have its own publications and which could be adapted for the organization as well.

The Local non Science community could be the largest by number of the audiences and this may pose a challenge to make them part of the science movement. While articles, books and flyers may be in order it could also be the resorting to different media such as videos, posters, leaflets and maybe even powerpoints. While this may take our attention away from publications these can also make the publication list in several ways.
