PUBLICATION PROCESS IN E MODE -By ra

Image
PUBLICATION PROCESS IN E MODE -By ra E mode publishing is simply the publication via electronic media other than physical books newsletters etc. E-book, e journal, online magazine, online newspaper, blog digital publication app The process till the publication follows a similar line as the author send the manuscript to the publisher. Depending on the mode of publishing the the editing, reviewing and redirecting will take place. A main difference we see in e publishing is that there will be no offset printing done and there would be no physical output of the process. The author will be contacted after the initial reviewing process for quality changes to which the author may or may not agree. The changes will be taken under consideration of the publishers and depending on their policies will invoke the amendments. Another important consideration that will take place with the publisher will be the platform or software on which the publication will be made available. After t...

PUBLICATION PROCESS FOR ASSISTED PUBLISHING By ra

Image
PUBLICATION PROCESS FOR ASSISTED PUBLISHING  By ra Assisted (Self) Publishing is hybrid model between traditional publishing and independent publishing. What that insists is that the the authors reserve some rights of the entire process.  What could these rights be?Some of these are Editing and Proofreading, ISBN numbers marketing designing etc. Of course the 'authoring' is the sole responsibility of the author. But many of these aspects mentioned above can also be done by the author.  Therefore the author may either do it her/him self or lend it out to professionals or persons able. It might be best to hire out if the time and expertise can be consuming. The reviewing can be up for grabs.   For the traditional publishers this might cause some harm as they don't have the monopoly of the process and they can't expect to request payments to that effect. But they are still able to bring in sufficient amount as it cover the major part of pr...

No publication bias in global climate change research Do climate scientists avoid publishing results that go against the consensus on man-made climate change, in favour of results that confirm it? Not  according to our research. Academics debate on this topic with key themes such as skepticism, evidence, bias and foundations of scientific publishing.                        http://sciencenordic.com/no-publication-bias-global-climate-change-research http://sciencenordic.com/no-publication-bias-global-climate-change-research

THE PUBLICATION PROCESS FOR SELF PUBLICATIONS By ra

Image
SELF PUBLICATION PROCESS This means simply the publication of a text without the use of an established publisher. It will also mean that the author will have the opportunity to do all the things we discussed in the previous blog with regards to publishing by him or herself. In a way it is an advantage as it allows more titles to come to the market and the entire process from cover design to finances are in the hands of the author. On the downside content, nature and quality have been questioned against self publications. However with new technology, freedom in communication as well as measures taken against plagiarism the self publishing market has exploding. And the following quote emphasizes it. "There has been a “dizzying rise in self-publishing,” according to one view.  Self-published book titles in production tripled from 2006 to 2012.  2008 was a watershed year; for the first time in history, more books were self-published than those published t...

Publishing Process (from non self publishing model) By ra

* If we are considering the field of academic publishing, then most of the work that have gone into the research or work would have been completed. The completed text is called the 'manuscript' and the author/s have to present it to the publishers.  * If the publishers are going to take on the task of entire production and not self publishing by the author/s they will want to verify the works to the given audience.  * This will include the editor and or the person in charge who will send the manuscript around so that persons who maybe experts in the field will review the work and send comments to be made into changes.  * The author/s will be be involved in negotiating when the reviewing will take place, they will also correct and proof read before the the final output is made. * The next step will be the phase where the publisher will send the text for editing, typesetting, referencing and finally printing.  * Finally the publisher will us...
